Town of Van Etten Notice of Public Hearing of Proposed Local Law No. 1 of 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board of the Town of Van Etten on August 11, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., at Van Etten Town Hall, 6 Gee Street, Van Etten, New York, regarding a proposed law entitled “Local Law No. 1 of 2022, Building Construction and Code Enforcement in the Town of Van Etten.” The proposed law, if adopted, will provide for the administration and enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the State Energy Conservation Construction Code within the Town of Van Etten. A copy of the proposed law will be available for inspection during regular business hours in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Van Etten, located at 6 Gee Street, Van Etten, New York 14889.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board of the Town of Van Etten on August 11, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., at Van Etten Town Hall, 6 Gee Street, Van Etten, New York, regarding a proposed law entitled “Local Law No. 2 of 2022, Regulation of Property Maintenance in the Town of Van Etten.” The proposed law, if adopted, will (1) require each property within the Town to be kept clean and free of physical hazards, litter, garbage, refuse, infestation, and overgrown grass, weeds, and brush, and any buildings and other structures thereon to be structurally sound and in good repair, (2) if a property is not maintained in compliance with the law, authorize the Code Enforcement Officer or designee to enter onto the property and take such action as is necessary to remedy the non-compliance, and (3) provide for the cost of such action to be certified by the Code Enforcement Officer as to the property and, if not paid in a timely manner by the owner, lessee, or occupant of the property, to be assessed and levied upon the property in the same manner as property taxes.
